As a Phlebotomist, you will perform collection of blood specimens from patients of all ages and transports specimens to the laboratory for analysis. You will assume responsibility for safety and comfort of the patients in accordance with established laboratory standards and practices. You will provide compassionate care to our patients every day.
You will develop and maintain positive relationships with our patients, guests, other team members, and medical staff by striving for excellence in service and quality. You will be responsible for: Demonstrating correct procedure for completion of venipuncture and skin puncture procedures for patients of all ages.
Accurately labeling tubes immediately after collection. Never pre-label tubes. Following the laboratory’s procedures for specimen collection, labeling, handling, and transport.
Demonstrating adequate understanding of proficiency in using the computer systems. Performing laboratory support functions as applicable. Assisting nursing units with requests for specimen collection, specimen transport, and needed supplies.
Working flexible hours to include weekends and holidays. Requirements What you will need: High school diploma or GED. Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.
