✓Requirements
Certifications
6 months of phlebotomy experience that qualifies for American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification, or approved equivalent certification, preferred.
Completion of a structured, American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) approved phlebotomy training course, or approved equivalent course, or equivalent preferred such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or MA AND experience in the following areas.
Education
✓High School diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. (High School diploma or equivalent required for CAP surveyors only).
Qualifications
✓Participates in mandatory in-services and continuing education programs as mandated by policies and procedures, accrediting agencies and as directed by Leadership.
✓Requires strong attention to detail.
✓Willing to adjust schedule/shift and pick up open shifts to meet patient needs.
Routine venipuncture experience preferred.
Routine dermal puncture experience preferred.
