✓Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Phlebotomy Certificate or current RN/LPN nursing license in DC Phlebotomy or nursing education and training for the credential held CPR/BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Demonstrated knowledge of venipuncture
Qualifications
✓Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities.
✓Ability to follow infection-control, patient-safety, confidentiality, and specimen-handling requirements.
✓Basic computer skills and ability to work with required clinical and organizational systems.
✓Handle with Care, and UHS Verbal De-Escalation training must be completed as required.
✓Training is provided during orientation.
1–3 years of related phlebotomy, laboratory, nursing, or healthcare experience. preferred
Previous experience collecting specimens in a hospital, behavioral health, or other patient-care environment. preferred
Experience working with electronic health records and laboratory systems. preferred

About the role

Responsibilities Make a Meaningful Impact on Behavioral Healthcare. As a Phlebotomist at The Psychiatric Institute of Washington, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory processing, and maintaining specimen integrity in accordance with facility and contracted laboratory guidelines.
