Physician Assistant - Bothin Burn Center | Night Shift Make an impact in one of Northern California’s leading burn programs. Join the interprofessional team at UCSF Health’s Bothin Burn Center, an American Burn Association Verified Burn Center caring for more than 500 burn patients each year. The 16-bed intensive care burn unit—the largest in Northern California—provides specialized care to adult and pediatric patients from critical care through rehabilitation, with an adjacent outpatient burn clinic.

As a Physician Assistant on the night shift , you’ll care for patients with complex burn injuries across the continuum of care while working as an integral member of an interprofessional team that includes physicians, nursing, rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, nutrition, case management, and other specialists.

Assess and manage patients with complex burn injuries and medical needs. Perform admission assessments and provide ongoing clinical management, including coordination with the Emergency Department. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interprofessional burn care team.

Coordinate care throughout the patient’s recovery, from acute treatment through rehabilitation. Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the care experience. This is an opportunity to develop specialized expertise in burn and critical care while contributing to a collaborative team caring for some of the region’s most complex patients.

A minimum one year of recent experience working in Acute or Critical Care as a Physician Assistant Demonstrated excellence in the following areas: clinical practice, communication, clinical case management, leadership/problem identification/resolution, and teaching. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

A minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an Inpatient Physician Assistant in an academic medical center. Licensure/Certification: Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA) California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position Current national board certification (NCCPA) by first day of work and maintain Active DEA registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 to a California address Completion of an AAPA recognized graduate master’s degree program as a physician assistant Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day Current AHA BLS Current AHA ACLS UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed.

In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
