You’ll need
Licensure
✓Required to hold current Texas Peace Officer License through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Certifications
✓Must be able to obtain Mental Health Peace Officer Certification within eighteen (18) months of employment with Ector County Hospital District Police Department.
✓Must be able to acquire and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within (18) months (prerequisite for Mental Health Peace Officer Certification).
Education
✓High School graduate or equivalent upon hire
Qualifications
✓Valid Texas Class C driver’s license required.
✓Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
✓Must be able to use computer, two-way radio, and telephone. Must be able to qualify for Texas Motor Vehicle Insurance.
✓Must be able to render credible testimony in a court of law.
✓Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
✓Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
