You’ll need
Licensure
✓Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and /or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge
Certifications
✓Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
✓Current healthcare provider BLS certification required.
Education
✓Successful completion of an American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) accepted educational program leading to an Associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography.
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of, the function, operation and maintenance of various types of polysomnographic/EEG equipment, including electrodes and recordings.
✓Knowledge of sleep disorders/EEG processes and applications, including knowledge of normal/abnormal cardio-respiratory, neurological and sleep physiology.
✓Knowledge of FHS patient care standards and practices, legal issues, and general regulatory requirements applicable to procedures conducted within designated scope of authority.
✓Knowledge of protocols and special procedures applicable to activities within designated scope of responsibility.
✓Ability to recognize sleep pathology that requires treatment.
✓Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
✓Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level.
✓Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.
✓Where You'll Work
Current registration as an EEG Technician through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) preferred.
