Serves as a primary point of contact for patients and visitors in an outpatient unit and provides excellent customer service through clear communication. Reports to the manager with input from assigned physicians, nurses and other health care providers.
Schedule Full-time, 30 hours per week Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Join a busy multispecialty outpatient practice as a Practice Representative supporting front-desk and patient access operations. You will welcome patients, manage check-in and check-out, coordinate follow-up appointments, and help patients navigate care across a variety of specialties. This role is primarily based at the front desk, with occasional telephone and insurance-related support as needed.
What You’ll Do Welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner Check patients in and verify demographic and insurance information Collect required co-payments and direct patients to the appropriate service area Complete patient check-out and schedule follow-up appointments Coordinate related diagnostic and laboratory testing Schedule specialty services, including tests such as stress tests and echocardiograms Reschedule appointments and help address patient flow concerns Prepare schedules, medical records, and other required documents Maintain accurate and confidential patient information Confirm prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications as needed Provide occasional telephone coverage and route information appropriately Communicate closely with patients, providers, families, and practice staff What Success Looks Like You will be successful in this role if you are: Warm, welcoming, and comfortable working directly with patients Organized and attentive to detail Comfortable learning different specialties and scheduling workflows Able to manage several responsibilities while maintaining accuracy Professional and calm when assisting patients Dependable and willing to support your teammates Comfortable using computers and web-based applications Interested in building experience in a healthcare environment
This Team? You will join an established and supportive front-desk team where employees work together to keep patient visits running smoothly. The Lexington practice supports approximately 26 departments and 50 rotating providers, offering exposure to a wide range of outpatient specialties.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys customer service, wants to build relationships with returning patients, and is interested in learning more about healthcare operations. Free on-site parking is available. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree preferred. 0-1 years related work experience required. Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
One year experience in a healthcare or service/hospitality environment.
