Education
✓Current University of Arkansas System employees, including student employees and graduate assistants, need to log in to Workday via MyApps.
✓High School, GED or formal educational equivalent
Associate degree in general studies or related. preferred
Qualifications
✓2 years customer service or healthcare experience.
✓Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write. Computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone etiquette skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners. Excellent customer service skills.
✓The Specialist directs out-of-network insured patients to Office of Financial Counseling while advising in network patients of their insurance copay and deductible.
✓The Pre-Registration Specialist gives detailed appointment information that includes time, location, and physician information.
✓This position must be able to perform all duties of the Pre-Registration Specialist level and other duties to support patient care activities as required.
✓This position is the network specialist for understanding patient insurance.
✓This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification).
✓A criminal conviction or arrest pending adjudication alone shall not disqualify an applicant except as provided by law.
✓Any criminal history will be evaluated in relationship to job responsibilities and business necessity.
✓The information obtained in these reports will be used in a confidential, non-discriminatory manner consistent with state and federal law.
One year in medical office setting preferred
Knowledge in basic medical terminology preferred, medical terminology competent within 3 months of hire. Registration experience is preferred.
