What You’ll Do - Mental Health Tech As a Mental Health Technician at Hickory Trail Hospital, you’ll be on the unit and engaged with patients throughout your shift. MHTs are essential members of the treatment team: they help maintain a safe, structured environment, build supportive relationships, and share the observations nurses need to make informed care decisions.
This is a hands-on role that requires patience, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to respond calmly when situations change. High School Degree or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
CNA Certification Preferred.
