About the role

In this critical role, you will provide rapid psychiatric assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment planning for patients presenting evenings, overnight and weekends with behavioral health, substance use, and psychiatric emergencies in a fast-paced emergency department environment. You will also provide consultation-liaison psychiatry services to the hospital’s inpatient medical services as needed.

What you’ll do

Manage patients experiencing psychiatricManage patients experiencing psychiatric, substance use, and behavioral health crises
Provide crisis stabilization, medicationProvide crisis stabilization, medication management, and treatment recommendations, including for patients admitted to medical units with co-morbid psychiatric illnesses
Determine appropriate levels ofDetermine appropriate levels of psychiatric care, including inpatient admission, observation, outpatient treatment, and community-based services
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate safe discharge and continuity of care
