✓Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and have certification in psychiatry approved by the American

✓Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.

✓Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.

✓Loss of license or limited permit to practice medicine in New York State or board certification, if required, may result in removal from your position.

Qualifications

About the role

Duties Description St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center Children and Youth (SLPC C&Y), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists to work at the Massena Wellness Center. As a Psychiatrist at SLPC C&Y, you will provide comprehensive, patient centered, and recovery focused treatments to children and youth with mental illness; including:
Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions
Creating treatment plans including medication management
Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed
Providing individual and group psychotherapy

Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and have certification in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
