✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Under direct supervision of a New York State licensed and currently registered psychologist, performs work in the field of forensic psychology.
✓Unlicensed individuals must work under the supervision of a New York State licensed and currently registered Psychologist.
✓Valid license and current registration to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED must be obtained within two (2) years of appointment to title.
✓Employees must maintain a valid Psychologist license for the duration of employment by completing thirty-six (36) hours of Continuing Education (CE) from a New York State Department of Education-approved provider every three (3) years after the initial certification.
Education
✓Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, PsyD, EdD) in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program, accepted by the the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
Qualifications
✓Valid limited permit to practice as a Psychologist issued by NYSED.
