The Patient Transporter performs under the direct supervision of the Director of the Trauma/ Acute Care Surgery Clinic. The Transporter is responsible for transporting patients inside and outside the Trauma Surgery Clinic. The Transporter is responsible for safely assisting Trauma Surgery Clinic patients from the Trauma/Acute Care Surgery, Orthopedic Trauma, and Neurosurgical specialties in and out of vehicles as needed.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. Performance Expectation: Demonstrate ability to safely transport patients of all ages/developmental levels and weight-bearing status. Demonstrate ability to follow safety precautions during patient transport to ensure the well - being of oneself, patients, and other staff members (i.e., avoids improper lifting, properly disposes of sharps, maintains infection control procedures, consistently cleans work area on own initiative to facilitate efficient work, and avoids damaging equipment).
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in all interactions with patients, families, visitors and employees while achieving exceptional, sustained quality patient care, satisfaction, and loyalty . Responds to requests immediately to minimize patient waiting. Demonstrate ability to respond to patients when their condition worsens by appropriately and quickly alerting the RN and clinic team members.
Education/Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. Work
Preferably one year experience in dealing with customer service in the healthcare setting.
