Certifications
✓Obtain and satisfactorily complete the initial 8 hour Hospital Orientation Program and Annual Competency Reviews and any other training as may be occasionally mandated.
✓Obtain and satisfactorily complete annual (or biannual as applicable) re-certifications in: CPR (Cardio Pulmonary resuscitation
✓Fit testing for Tuberculosis Respirator Masks
✓Hazard Communication Program
✓Annual Fire Suppression and Hazard Recognition Training
✓Annual Self Defense and Management of Violent Situations Training
✓Annual Training and physical completion for the Emergency Response Team
✓and other training as may be determined by the Supervisor of Public Safety.
Education
✓High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
✓Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Qualifications
✓Avade 2 (restraint) training completion required within 6 months of hire into role.
✓Three years related experience and/or training in public safety.
✓Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
✓Valid Driver's License required
✓Successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior within 30 days of hire required.

About the role

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
