✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Possession of a DC Security Officer License or the ability to file for the license within the first two weeks of employment and obtain the license within the first 45 days of employment.
✓Candidates must have no more than 15 points resulting from any non-valid license status (expired, suspended, revoked, etc.) on their SambaSafety risk assessment.
Certifications
✓Successful completion of post-hire training and certification requirements, including CPR, Stop the Bleed, Narcan, and De-escalation training.
Healthcare security certifications such as Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) or Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA). preferred
Education
✓High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional education or coursework in security, law enforcement, criminal justice, or healthcare-related fields. preferred
Qualifications
✓Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain driving privileges in accordance with Johns Hopkins Health System requirements.
✓Must be at least 21 years old to apply. Exceptions may be considered for candidates with military, law enforcement, or comparable healthcare security experience.
✓As part of the pre-employment process, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and a SambaSafety risk assessment will be conducted.
✓Candidates must have no more than 5 points on their MVR .
✓Candidates must have no more than 8 points from driving-related infractions, violations, or convictions on their SambaSafety risk assessment.
✓Both assessments are completed separately. Failure to meet either requirement will result in disqualification from the pre-employment process.
✓Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
✓Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
✓Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
✓Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a healthcare environment.
