OverviewThe Radiation Oncology Physicist is responsible for precise and accurate delivery of treatment plans, and Quality Control of equipment as directed by the Director of Medical Physics.

The individual must hold a Master’s Degree and/or a Doctoral Degree in Radiation Therapy Physics or a closely related field such as physics, biophysics or health physics acceptable to the Director of Radiation. Minimum

The individual must complete one year of full time training in a therapeutic physics and an additional year of full time work experience under the supervision of a radiation therapy physicist at a medical institution. Required Certification/Registration: The individual must be eligible for certification or be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABW) or have equivalent credentials acceptable to the Director of Radiation Oncology.
