The Radiology Clerk PACS is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care, on a continuing basis, for Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients.
and Responsibilities Copy images for check-out using the PACS software. While maintaining the confidentiality of patient's records, research patients' radiology records through the Radiology Information System and the Hospital Information System. Utilize all aspects of the Radiology Information System accurately to manage confidential patient records.
Will be responsible for scheduling of Radiology Procedures. Obtain Pre-Authorization for Radiology Procedures. Assist with Registration process for Radiology Patients.
Verify borrower identification before releasing records from the Hospital. Monitor the out-patient waiting area and question appropriate technical personnel when a patient is waiting more than 15 minutes past their appointment. Upon receipt of subpoenas, review patient records for any legal or risk management notices and, if there is none, then patient records are prepared for copies and legal case log is completed.
Retrieve records through RIS and fax records per request of the referring physician. Research and upload outside studies into PACS system. Maintain necessary inventory of supplies.
Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate Lead/Supervisor. Present self in a positive manner, as reflected by personal attire and etiquette. Demonstrate a commitment to flexibility regarding scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care.
May be crossed trained as needed. Attend required meetings and in-services. Perform other duties as assigned.
