Radiology Scheduling Clerk

The Radiology Scheduling Clerk is responsible for scheduling radiology and diagnostic imaging appointments, coordinating with patients and medical staff, and ensuring accurate and efficient scheduling of imaging services. This position provides excellent customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Radiology Department.

Schedule radiology and diagnostic imaging appointments, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and other imaging procedures. Answer incoming calls and assist patients, providers, and clinical staff with scheduling inquiries. Verify patient demographics, physician orders, and appointment details.

Communicate appointment instructions, preparation requirements, and arrival times to patients. Coordinate scheduling with radiology technologists, providers, and other departments. Maintain accurate scheduling records and update patient information in the electronic medical record.

Assist with appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling. Obtain and verify insurance information and assist with authorization or referral requirements as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous medical office, scheduling, registration, or customer service experience preferred.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
