High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience Associates Degree/Technical Degree or higher in Recreational Therapy OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association Therapist specializing in Recreation credentialed from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification preferred.
Excellent communication skills Excellent computer skills Previous experience with Behavioral Health populations Additional Information 6W is a 20-bed acute inpatient Behavioral Health unit caring for adults with a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health needs. We have a collaborative interdisciplinary team and are looking for a Recreational Therapist who is engaging, creative, and comfortable working with an acute behavioral health population.
The RT works closely with nursing, social work, and other members of the treatment team to provide structured therapeutic activities that promote coping skills, socialization, and patient engagement.
