Certifications
✓Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the following specialties Abdomen, OB/GYN and Vascular.
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Breast certification preferred.
In addition, certification in Adult Echo Cardiography is preferred.
Education
✓Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or Cardiovascular Technology program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required.
Qualifications
✓Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies), as appropriate.

About the role

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasonographer) provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for daily operations of the sonography room, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment processes.
