As a four-time Magnet-designated organization, AdventHealth for Children is committed to excellence in patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and clinical innovation. AdventHealth for Children features a dedicated milk room staffed by Infant Nutrition Technicians who specialize in the preparation and management of breastmilk and formula feedings. The hospital also utilizes human milk analysis technology to provide targeted fortification for infants experiencing growth challenges, enabling highly individualized nutrition interventions.
Position Highlights: The Pediatric and NICU Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) plays a critical role in the care of neonatal and pediatric patients, serving as a valued member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. NICU RDNs participate in daily rounds Monday through Friday alongside neonatologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and optimize individualized nutrition care plans for medically complex infants.
Pediatric ICU and Cardiac ICU RDNs similarly participate in multidisciplinary rounds, providing expert nutrition recommendations for critically ill children. The RDN team collaborates closely with providers and nursing staff to establish and implement evidence-based best practices throughout the NICU and pediatric units. Opportunities to participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, and program development allow RDNs to contribute to advancements in pediatric and neonatal nutrition care.
AdventHealth for Children also offers a robust outpatient pediatric nutrition program, with RDNs providing specialized care in multidisciplinary clinics including Pediatric Gastroenterology, Liver Transplant, Renal Transplant, Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and Ketogenic Diet programs. These clinics allow RDNs to develop expertise in managing complex chronic conditions and work closely with subspecialty physicians and advanced practice providers.
