Licensure
✓Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
Certifications
✓Completion of Marcus Crisis Prevention Program as a user within 90 days of hire
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
✓Marcus Crisis Prevention Program (MCPP) Tier 5 training, or equivalent, within 3 months of employment
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
Education
✓Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred
Qualifications
✓One year of psychiatric or behavioral health experience in the medical field or
✓One year of experience as a clinical nurse in a medical inpatient/emergency department setting working with pediatric and adolescent patient populations
✓Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
✓Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
✓Skills in coordination, delegation, and team collaboration.
✓Abilities to use critical thinking and quickly make decisions -
✓Ability to show accountability for leadership and actions in an autonomous role
✓Ability to remain calm and manage verbal/physical responses in stressful situations
✓Ability to establish rapport and use therapeutic communication with others
✓Complete orientation and initial assessment of competency successfully by determined due date.
✓Complete mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements as defined by department and system by due date.
✓Achieve 75% of staff meetings.
2-3 years of clinical nurse experience preferred
Experience in the emergency room setting preferred
Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum preferred
Previous experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques and strategies preferred
Experience with and knowledge of the assessment, management and treatment of behavioral health patients preferred
