Single. Day. Aspirus Regional Cancer Center in Wausau, WI is seeking a REGISTERED NURSE - CLINIC to join our MEDICAL ONCOLOGY team!

The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while incorporating evidence-based practice. This unique Medical Oncology RN position offers a blend of clinic nursing and hands-on infusion nursing care, providing the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients throughout their cancer journey while utilizing critical thinking and advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include patient assessment, symptom management, treatment coordination, patient education, administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron infusions, blood products, and other supportive treatments, as well as assessment and management of treatment side effects, toxicities, and acute patient needs. The Medical Oncology RN works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to oncology patients while practicing at the top of their nursing scope.
A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of care through the collection, analysis, and application of data to support exceptional patient outcomes. HOURS: Full-time - .8fte - 64hours or 1.0 FTE - 80 hours every pay period,
day only (M-F, 800-430 or 830-500) Experience/Qualifications Associate degree in nursing required . Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Certification in specialty desired.
Minimum of one year practicing as a RN preferred. Possesses an active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license. Maintains specialty certification as per department scope of service.
Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin , and knowledge testing. An acceptable BLS training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
