You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.
Certifications
✓Current CPR training is required.
✓Current ACLS obtained within 6 months of being in the department for critical care, Labor and Delivery and Antepartum areas.
✓Current NPR training obtained within 6 months of being in the department is required for the following areas: Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum.
✓Current PALS training obtained within 6 months of being in the department is required for the following areas: Ambulatory Surgical Unit, Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology, Emergency, Endoscopy, Operating Room, Recovery and Urgent Care.
✓TNCC or ATCN training obtained within 1 year of being in the department is required for the following areas: Emergency, ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Recovery and Urgen Care areas.
✓ENPC training obtained within 1 year of being in the position is required for the Emergency and Urgent Care.
Education
✓Bachelor degree in Nursing is required. May consider ADN, but must obtain BSN within three years from date of hire.
✓Completion of CPI training obtained within 1 year of being in the department is required for the Emergency and Urgent Care.
Qualifications
✓Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
✓Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
✓Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
✓Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
✓Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
✓Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
✓Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required, preferably in a hospital-based acute care setting.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
