PRN, as needed; 24 hours per month, with at least one weekend shift required. Join our Emergency Department nursing team as a Registered Nurse – Emergency Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) . As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you’ll provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to patients and their families following a sexual assault.

Responsibilities Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate education and referrals to support continuity of care. Develops an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary healthcare team. Delivers high-quality patient care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating the specialized knowledge and clinical skills required for the role.
Promptly and accurately completes documentation to ensure a complete legal record of patient care. Utilizes a holistic approach to care, considering the biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, and safety needs of patients and families. Utilizes critical thinking to make independent clinical judgments while maintaining responsibility and accountability for assigned patients.
Demonstrates a commitment to patient and workplace safety by preventing errors, accidents, and infections and promptly reporting potential or actual concerns. Qualifications
Diploma from an accredited RN program required. BSN degree preferred.
One year of hospital clinical experience required. License(s)/Certification(s): Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing in the primary state required. Must apply for RN licensure in the secondary state within 90 days.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Illinois Sexual Assault Certification of Completion required within one year of attending Didactic Training. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity and a customer/patient-focused approach.
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to use independent judgment in decision-making.
