Licensure
✓Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers
✓Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina
Certifications
✓BLS certification required
Education
✓Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher, Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program
Qualifications
✓Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the registered nurse as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
✓Maintain required competencies, identify learning needs, participate in professional development, act as a preceptor and support the development of staff and formal learners
✓Ability to document assessments, plans of care, interventions, evaluations and reevaluations of patient status
✓Ability to assess the nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients, independently seek resources and work collaboratively
✓Ability to educate patients and families in accordance with the nursing plan of care
✓Ability to manage professional relationships with patients, families, visitors, the healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership and others
