✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Certifications
✓Current BLS through American Heart Association required and kept current henceforth.
✓ACLS through American Heart Association and NRP required and kept current henceforth, new graduates or employees who are new to this unit will have six months to complete.
✓AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course completion to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
✓For RNs graduating within the last 12 months, or RNs that have not practiced in an acute care facility within the last 24 months and have not previously completed a residency program will be required to complete the CMH-provided program.
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of basic nursing principles and procedures. Knowledge/skill of holistic patient care. General understanding of the process of labor and delivery and the needs of the family.
✓STABLE required and to be obtained within one year of hire.
✓Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
✓Ability to lift and transfer patients is required, usually with the assistance of co-workers.
✓Normal or corrected vision is required.
✓Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing.
✓Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment.
✓Subject to physical and emotional stress of work environment.
Mother/Baby or Labor and Delivery experience within last 18 months preferred.
Minimum one year current impatient and outpatient experience preferred.
