You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state required.
Certifications
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
✓Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply based on unit assignment, specialty area, patient population, or state regulations.
Education
✓Associate Degree in Nursing required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Qualifications
✓Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions, evaluate interventions, and modify care plans through critical thinking and sound clinical judgment.
✓Knowledge of professional nursing principles, standards of care, and evidence-based practice.
✓Proficiency with electronic medical records, automated medication dispensing systems, and healthcare technologies.
✓Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows-based applications.
✓Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
✓Knowledge and skill in the use of clinical equipment, including intravenous therapy equipment, central line devices, pulse oximetry equipment, nasogastric tubes, Foley catheters, chest tube systems, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
✓Strong clinical assessment, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
✓Ability to exercise independent judgment and make clinical decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
✓Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while remaining calm and professional during stressful situations.
✓Knowledge of medication administration practices, pharmacology principles, and patient safety standards.
✓Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
✓Commitment to patient rounding, continuous learning, and completion of required EKG training based on departmental requirements.
✓Ability to interpret EKG findings as required by patient population and assigned department.
✓Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
One year of acute care hospital nursing experience preferred.
