You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state required.
Certifications
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
✓Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on assigned department, patient population, specialty area, or state regulations.
Education
✓Associate Degree in Nursing required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Qualifications
✓Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions, evaluate interventions, and modify plans of care using critical thinking and sound clinical judgment.
✓Knowledge of professional nursing principles, standards of care, evidence-based practice, and medication administration.
✓Basic computer proficiency, including electronic medical record systems, automated medication dispensing systems, and Microsoft Windows-based applications.
✓Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
✓Knowledge and skill in the operation of clinical equipment, including IV therapy devices, central line equipment, pulse oximetry monitors, nasogastric tubes, Foley catheters, chest tube systems, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
✓Strong clinical, organizational, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
✓Ability to exercise independent judgment and remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
✓Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
✓Commitment to ongoing learning, patient rounding practices, and EKG education requirements as applicable.
✓Ability to interpret EKG rhythms and findings based on assigned patient populations and departmental requirements.
One year of acute care hospital nursing experience preferred.
