You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state required.
Certifications
✓Ability to float to appropriate departments based on competency, licensure, certifications, and scope of practice.
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
✓Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the assigned department, specialty area, patient population, facility, or state in which the position is located.
Education
✓Associate Degree in Nursing required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Qualifications
✓Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions, evaluate interventions, and revise plans of care using critical thinking and sound clinical judgment.
✓Knowledge of professional nursing principles, standards of care, evidence-based practice, and medication administration.
✓Basic computer proficiency, including electronic medical record systems, automated medication dispensing systems, and Microsoft Windows-based applications.
✓Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
✓Knowledge and skill in the operation of clinical equipment, including intravenous therapy devices, central line equipment, pulse oximetry monitors, nasogastric tubes, Foley catheters, chest tube systems, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, and related patient care technologies.
✓Proficient clinical, critical-thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
✓Ability to exercise independent judgment and remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
✓Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, healthcare professionals, and team members.
✓Commitment to ongoing professional development, patient rounding practices, and EKG education requirements as applicable.
✓Ability to interpret EKG rhythms and findings based on assigned patient populations and departmental requirements.
✓Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities.
✓Ability to function as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
One year of acute care hospital nursing experience preferred.
