Licensure
✓Ability to float to appropriate departments based on patient care needs, clinical competency, licensure, certifications, and scope of practice.
✓Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state required.
Certifications
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
✓Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific department, specialty area, patient population, facility, or state in which the position is located.
Education
✓Associate Degree in Nursing required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Qualifications
✓Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions, evaluate interventions, and modify plans of care using critical thinking and sound clinical judgment.
✓Knowledge of professional nursing principles, standards of care, evidence-based practice, and medication administration.
✓Basic computer proficiency, including electronic medical record systems, automated medication dispensing systems, and Microsoft Windows-based applications.
✓Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
✓Knowledge and skill in the operation of clinical equipment, including intravenous therapy devices, central line equipment, pulse oximetry monitors, nasogastric tubes, Foley catheters, chest tube systems, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, and other equipment required to provide patient care safely.
✓Strong clinical, organizational, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
✓Ability to exercise independent judgment and remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
✓Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
✓Commitment to ongoing learning, patient rounding practices, and EKG education requirements as applicable.
✓Ability to interpret EKG rhythms and findings based on assigned patient populations and departmental requirements.
One year of acute care hospital nursing experience preferred.
