You’ll need
Licensure
✓RN licensure is required.
✓Based on primary state of residency and in accordance with current Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations, must be licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia with either a: Multi-state license, under the Nurse Licensure Compact
✓If an RNA beginning employment as an RN I or promoting to an RN I from any VH position, must secure: Eligibility to Test Letter (or interim phone primary source verification and documentation of same by VH Nurse Recruitment, while awaiting letter to come in the mail) from the Virginia Board
✓must first secure home state’s Compact license with multi-state privileges and may then commence RN employment as an RN I.).
Certifications
✓BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved is required.
✓New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Relevant specialty certification is preferred.
Education
✓Associates degree in Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN, or ADN) is required.
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Qualifications
✓Competent in providing care based on the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development.
✓Competent to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
✓Must have a reliable means of phone communication with hospital.
