Registered Nurse (ICU) - 7pm-7:30amJob DescriptionRegistered Nurses in the Intensive Care Unit are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. These RN's provide clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

Requirement: Active RN in the State of ILHours: 7pm-7:30am, weekend and holiday rotationResponsibilitiesAdvocates for quality outcomes for patients., Advocates for quality outcomes for patients., Applies nursing process to patients and family education to promote patient's management of own healthcare., Asses based on patient's communication of information and need, existing signs and symptoms, current patient data, and nursing knowledge., Assesses patients' conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members., Assessment - Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation.

Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data., Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery., Coordination of Care - Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines., Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues., Directs and guides other health care workers and assumes accountability for performance of nursing activities delegated to other workers., Document assessment data, nursing interventions, and patient outcomes.

Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data and reports data and outcomes as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines., Documents and reports care delivered to the physicians and other team members as needed., Enhances professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflct resolution, team building annually. (This is in addition to required unit/patient specific education.), Establishes effective and collaborative working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team.

Identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions., Evaluation - Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. Reports data and outcomes to others as appropriate., Implementation - Implements care or work plan in alignment with the plan and approved safety, infection control, and department/organization standards., Implements and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards., Knowledge - In collaboration with leaders, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the position, reading current literature and seeking new learning opportunities., Manages an environment that promotes patient’s self esteem, dignity, safety, and comfort., Obtains and maintains professional knowledge by completing required knowledge and skills through orientation and competency activities specific to the unit, unit based in-service programs, reading current literature and seeking new clinical learning opportunities., Outcomes Identification - Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situations., Participates in on-call time when hospital convenience time is instituted., Participates in quality management and performance improvement programs to improve processes and outcomes.
