✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Certifications
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
✓Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Education
✓Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of two years of adult critical care work experience as a registered nurse is required.
✓RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within 2 years and complete within four years of hire date.
Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
