You’ll need
Licensure
✓Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required
Certifications
✓Current CPR certification required.
✓ACLS provider completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments: ICU/IMC, PACU, Interventional Radiology, GI Lab, and ED.
✓PALS completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments: PACU and Emergency Department.
Education
BSN preferred.
Qualifications

✓Understand and follow policies and protocols and help others with using these resources effectively. Attentive to addressing patient needs in relation to quality measures, National Patient Safety Goals, and patient education.
✓2. Functions as charge nurse and/or preceptor. Works with supervisor to resolve issues at the unit level.
✓7. Evaluates the patient’s response to treatments/interventions through reassessment and revises the Plan of Care as necessary.
✓9. Assesses patient’s teaching needs, and plans patient education accordingly.
✓13. Complies with hospital policies and practices in all aspects of care and professional behavior.
✓14. Follows Joint Commission (TJC) and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards as part of routine practice.
✓16. Attends and actively participates in unit staff meetings.
✓17. Attends and actively participates in shared governance through participation on committees or task forces.
✓19. Demonstrates support and compliance with UMMC Midtown Campus’ mission, vision, values, philosophy, goals objectives and policies.
✓20. Meets the continuing education and participation requirements of the clinical ladder.
✓Education and Experience
✓Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
✓2. One-year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
✓3.
✓4. Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
✓5. Member of a professional organization.
✓6. Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting
