✓Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
Certifications
✓Current BLS –prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
✓Successful completion of the ONS - Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within 6 months of hire required
OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse within 2 years of hire preferred
Education
✓Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
BSN preferred
Qualifications
✓One-year experience as a RN required.
✓CPI training within 90 days of hire
2+ years of inpatient oncology RN experience and charge/preceptor skills preferred

- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Fast-Paced, high-volume Oncology Department (35 bed) . Patients are admitted to this floor for multiple diseases such as Leukemia, Sepsis, Lymphoma, Melanoma, Breast, Kidney/Pancreatic Cancers, pain management and med/surg overflow. This is a mixed acuity unit. You will have the opportunity to build your skills caring for higher acuity PCU patients with a lower patient ratio Here’s What You Need
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
- BSN preferred
- One-year experience as a RN required.
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
