Description Med Surg - PRN 12hr shifts (days) History: Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton.

This facility served the community well for many years, but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20, and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital. SUMMARY OF

Has principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge process of each assigned patient to attain optimal health and continuity of care. The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating care delegated to non-licensed personnel ensuring that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment.

Cross-trains to all patient care departments to ensure adequate staffing levels. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing Licenses/Certificates: Current Registered Nurse license certified by the State of Texas or licensure from a state within the nursing compact required. Hold current CPR/BLS or obtain upon hire. Credentials in an advanced cardiac life support course (e.g.

ACLS or hospital equivalent) preferred Credentials in a nationally recognized pediatric advanced life support course (e.g. PALS or ENPC) preferred TNCC preferred

One (1) year experience as a Professional Registered Nurse in a hospital environment preferred.
