Job Overview Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse on the Birthplace Unit at our Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN.

This role is a .75 FTE (60 hours every 2 weeks) working 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend rotation. Variable weekday schedule. About this Location: Fairview Lakes Medical Center provides high-quality, comprehensive primary and specialty care to community residents.

About this Unit: The Birthplace at M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center offers a unique opportunity to care for families across the full continuum of maternal and newborn care in a collaborative, family-centered environment.

Our newly renovated unit includes 6 Labor & Delivery rooms, 9 postpartum rooms, 2 OB triage rooms, Level 1 nursery, and an operating room within the department for cesarean births. Nurses on our unit are trained to provide care across the continuum of maternal-child health, including Labor & Delivery, postpartum and newborn care, pediatrics, OR circulating for cesarean sections, and PACU recovery following cesarean births.

Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of OB/GYN physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners, CRNAs, registered nurses, and nursing support staff, with all nurses trained in lactation support and several holding Certified Lactation Consultant credentials. As part of M Health Fairview, we combine the personalized experience of community-based care with seamless access to specialty services and Fairview's NICU network when advanced neonatal care is needed.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.

Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes. Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) Required

MN Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) 1 year L&D experience
