You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current RN licensure from Texas State Board of Nursing or holds a recognized compact state licensure
Certifications
✓OCN Certification required within 2 years of hire
✓All Clinical Instructors are responsible to provide BLS.
✓BLS instructor status is required.
✓Instructor status is required in: NRP, PALS, ACLS to correlate with staff nurse requirements in each unit.
Education
✓through staff rounding and provides regular educational programs for growth.
✓Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
✓Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing required

✓DNV Readiness
✓Technical Procedure Privileging
✓Continuing Nursing Education
✓Utilizes the annual needs assessment to plan educational in-services. Maintains required
✓documents in education files. Promotes accountability for timely completion of mandatory
✓Prepares staff for DNV and other accreditation visits. Plans and organizes annual
✓competency fair.
✓Professional Growth and Development
✓Engages staff in self-directed and unit-based activities
✓Evidence-based Practice
✓Coaching and Mentoring
✓Employee Satisfaction
✓Ensures unit
✓practices are evidence based.
✓3 years of professional nursing experience
✓Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specific clinical area.
Supervisory experience desired preferred
