Responsibilities Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury. Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
Delivers care consistent with the physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy. Qualifications Job
High school diploma or equivalent Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) Must maintain current Texas RN License BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientation Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientation NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation Preferred Job
One year of emergency nursing experience Two years of acute care nursing experience CEN Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
