  • 7a) - 2/12 hour shifts- 24 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirementsL&D Department highlights:The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10-step facility with the “Best Place to Have a Baby” designation. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership teamThe unit has a 12 LDR beds, 2 OR suites, 3 private recovery rooms, 6 Antepartum rooms, 4 private OB/ED beds, and 23 Postpartum/Newborn beds.Level III NICU with 16 beds with private roomsThe unit delivers an average between 175
  • 200 a month.OB Hospitalist 24/7Anesthesiologist dedicated to L&D 24/7Here’s What You NeedAssociate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferredRN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire requiredBCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly requiredACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of hireIFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 12 Months requiredNRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hireCPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required1 year of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing ProcessAssesses the patientPlans the care of the patientIntervenes as appropriateEvaluates the effectiveness of interventionsIncorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care. Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for informationMaintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

Texas Health Denton is the city’s only provider of obstetrical and neonatal intensive care services and is the largest provider of obstetrical services in Denton County.

The ground floor houses a breast imaging center, outpatient physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and an internal medicine residency program.
