Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuroscience PCU – Part-time, 7PBring your passion to Texas Health so we are better + togetherWork location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work hours: Part-time, 24 hours weekly, 2-12 hours shifts, Night shiftDepartment highlights:25-bed Neuroscience PCU Nurse: Patient ratio: 1:3The Neuro Progressive Care Unit provides care to a patient population with neuro related injuries and pre- and post-surgical patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions, including seizures, epilepsy and brain tumors.Cares for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, management of chest tubes, vent and tracheostomy care, wound/skin care, titration of insulin drips for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) diagnosis, respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions, multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI Bleeds, Renal/Liver Failure, Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities. MAGNET facilityLevel I Trauma Center Certified comprehensive stroke centerThe department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skillsSelf-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growthRobust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership teamHere’s What You Need Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferredCurrent RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hireBCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterlyACLS – within 90 days of hire requiredCPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hireNIHSS – within 6 month of hire required1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program requiredPCU experience preferred – strong Telemetry candidates are encouraged to applyCurrent Neuro experience in the acute care hospital setting preferredIn addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN willdemonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patientspossess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalismhave basic computer skills using medical management application systemsWhat You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
