The hospital’s Emergency Department treats more than 32,000 patients annually and is designated as a Primary Stroke Center with 24/7 telemedicine support. The Rahway campus is also home to Care Connection, a 24-bed licensed subacute rehabilitation unit owned by Alaris Health, and Kindred Hospital New Jersey – Rahway, a 34-bed long-term acute care hospital that specializes in treating medically complex patients requiring extended, specialized care.
Patients benefit from a wide range of therapeutic services including physical, occupational, speech, and hearing therapy, as well as cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs designed to support recovery and long-term wellness. As a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse, you will play an essential role in supporting patients during the critical recovery phase following surgery. Working collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the broader care team, you will monitor patient recovery, manage complex conditions, and ensure safe transitions through the post-operative process.
Current PACU or critical care nursing experience with recovery experience Ability to safely care for ventilated patients Ability to admit and discharge ambulatory surgery patients Flexibility to support Same-Day Surgery as operational needs require Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills Certifications and Licenses Required: Active New Jersey RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement BLS Certification through the American Heart Association ACLS and PALS Certification through the American Heart Association Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Scheduling

The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized, age-specific nursing care to patients within the assigned unit in support of the overall medical plan of care. The RN practices in accordance with the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health regulations, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
