In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Provides direct care to patients with needs specific to skin care and acute or chronic woundsAssists in the prevention and management of skin breakdown on a facility-wide basisParticipates in product evaluation and research activities related to wound care nursing practiceCollaborates with appropriate interdisciplinary staff as necessary to maintain an effective system for cost-effective utilization of specialty bedsProvides staff education regarding skin, wound and wound VAC use/maintenanceIdentifies and assists in opportunities for continuous improvement revenue enhancementFacilitates cost containmentParticipates in educational and Performance Improvement activitiesOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: Associate’s degree requiredBachelor’s degree preferredLicensed as Registered Nurse in North Carolina or compact state licensureMaintains certification of wound nurseWork
3 years of clinical practice experience in wound care highly preferred.3 or more years of Med Surg experience will be considered. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English languageArticulate and capable of teaching on a one-to-one level and with groupsDemonstrated teaching abilityPhysical
