Certifications
✓Certification through one of the following bodies: Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST) or National Board of Respiratory Care (CPFT, RPFT, CRT, RRT). -OR-
✓CPR certification or must obtain at next available class upon hire.
Education
✓Successful completion of the A-Step Sleep Technologists Education Program through The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Qualifications
✓Requires excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, providers and other hospital personnel on a one-to-one basis using appropriate grammar, vocabulary and word usage.
✓Requires interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress.
✓Requires developed computer skills and the ability to learn and proficiently perform patient care applications, echarting, email and other standard applications related to the department operations and job function.
✓Requires strong customer service skills, with special emphasis on patient centered care.
✓Requires ability to promote compassion and a therapeutic environment. .
✓Requires the ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and appropriately prioritize based on patient needs.

About the role

This position provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under the supervision of the Clinical Director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. Performs other duties as assigned.
