✓Requirements
Licensure
✓License to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.
Certifications
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Workers is required at the time of appointment.
✓Nurses competent in Critical Care areas and PACU/Short Stay, must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of employment.
✓For certain positions, possession of a motor vehicle operator's license is required.
✓Applicable checks may include, but are not limited to, state and federal criminal history records, child abuse and neglect registry check, adult protective services registry and sex offender registry records, etc. If a job offer is made or employment is begun prior to completion of all applicable ch
Education
✓Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
Qualifications
✓NURSING EXPERIENCE: One-half (1/2) year of responsible professional nursing work experience.
✓Of the required one-half (1/2) year of professional nursing work experience, one-half (1/2) year of professional nursing experience working in an acute-care setting is highly desired.
✓QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position.
✓The applicant's overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that he/she has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which he/she is being considered.
✓Nursing theory and practice; biological, physical, social and medicinal sciences as related to nursing theory and practice; nursing techniques and procedures; nursing literature and current trends and developments in nursing.
✓Applicants must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under the federal law for unrestricted employment and at the time of appointment intend to reside in the State of Hawaii during the course of employment with the Hawaii Health Systems Co
✓VETERAN’S PREFERENCE: If you are claiming Veteran’s Preference, you must submit a copy of your DD214 and/or other substantiating documents specifying the periods of your service.
Telemetry work experience is preferred.
