Licensure
✓Current Texas Respiratory Care License.
Certifications
✓Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
✓Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and STABLE certifications required or obtained within 6 months in position.
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) by The American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) certification preferred.
Education
✓Must be a graduate of a Respiratory Therapy education program (associate’s degree) that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
✓2 Year Degree
Qualifications
✓Must have a comprehensive knowledge of routine and critical procedures with critical thinking skills for both adults, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
✓Thorough knowledge of Respiratory physiology and ability to practice good judgment in the implementation of clinical interventions indicated by the patient status.
✓Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
✓Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
✓Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
One (1) year experience in adult, pediatric and neonatal critical care respiratory care procedures preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
