Role Overview As a Respiratory Therapist, you¿ll deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gases therapy primarily to critical care patients in the Intensive Care Units. You¿ll perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, maintain clinical expertise across various business units, and ensure effective communication and documentation of patient care. Deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gases therapy to critical care patients. Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients. Maintain clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units.
Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees regarding patient care needs. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and completely. Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to respiratory orienteers, externs, and students as assigned.
What You Will Need Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program. Associate of Science Degree, minimum; Bachelor¿s in Respiratory Therapy preferred. Recent graduate of a Respiratory Therapist school or two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in a Tertiary Hospital.
Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan (new graduates have 90 days to obtain).
