You’ll need
Certifications
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
Education
✓A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree preferred.
Qualifications
✓1. Ability to deal tactfully with associates, patients, visitors and the public.
✓2. Basic computer literacy and keyboarding skills required.
✓3. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
✓4. Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
✓5. Knowledge of commercial and managed care payors and terminology.
✓6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of insurance plan requirements, which can change frequently.
✓8. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
✓9. Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
✓10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
✓One year of experience in scheduling or patient access in a hospital or clinic setting is required.
7. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with ICD coding preferred.
Training or educational background with medical terminology and familiarity with ICD coding are preferred.
