Qualifications

✓Candidates from outside and within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Rehabilitation Counselor 2 eligible list.

✓Candidates from within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

✓In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Rehabilitation Counselor 2 at Capital District Psychiatric Center.

Duties Description Capital District Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting for a Rehabilitation Counselor 2 to provide rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness. As a Rehabilitation Counselor 2, you will provide a full range of rehabilitative/habilitative services to individuals with more complex issues, including:
Assessing individuals’ rehabilitative needs and coordinating necessary psychosocial, educational, and/or vocational services.
